Online shop for the Canary Islands, payments, IGIC and shipping sorted from day one

A shop that sells in Tenerife, on the other islands and across Europe, calculates IGIC correctly and doesn't fall over in high season. No heavy templates, with an admin panel where you add products yourself and see all your orders in one place.

Why this works differently in the Canaries

A shop in the Canary Islands has a few traps that mainland templates know nothing about: IGIC instead of IVA, different rates for shipping to the islands than to mainland Spain, customs and paperwork for shipments leaving the Canaries, customers paying with Bizum. Add seasonality, traffic spikes in winter and summer, and that's exactly when the shop has to work, not "load". I build shops that account for all of this from day one, and I stay on after launch for when you need a new payment method or another shipping zone.

Who it's for

  • Makers of local products: cosmetics, food, crafts, wine
  • Physical shops that want to sell online and to the other islands too
  • Rental businesses and companies selling accessories (surf, diving, bikes)
  • Clothing brands and souvenir shops selling to tourists after their holiday
  • Polish-run businesses importing products from Poland to the Canaries

What's included

  • Next.js shop with a catalogue, product variants and search
  • Online payments: card, Bizum, PayPal, your choice
  • IGIC invoices and correct tax rates for the Canaries, Spain and the EU
  • Shipping zones and rates (islands, mainland, Europe) plus local pick-up
  • Order panel, order statuses and automatic customer emails
  • Product and category SEO, structured data for Google Shopping
  • Hosting, domain and SSL certificate for the first year
How it works

From quote to launch in four steps

  1. 1

    Product range review

How many products, which variants, where you ship from, which payment methods. That's what I base the scope and the quote on.

  2. 2

    Structure and payments

Categories, product pages, shipping zones, payment set-up and IGIC invoicing.

  3. 3

    Build and testing

The shop on a preview, test orders from basket to invoice. Fixes before launch.

  4. 4

    Launch and first orders

Domain connected, products imported, admin panel walkthrough. I'm on hand for the first few weeks.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How much does an online shop cost in Tenerife?

A simple shop with up to 50 products, payments and IGIC invoices: from €2,500. A larger multilingual shop with shipping to Europe and integrations: from €4,500. Plus an ongoing care plan, because unlike a brochure site a shop has to work every day.

Does the shop calculate IGIC correctly?

Yes, that's one of the reasons I don't recommend off-the-shelf templates. I set up IGIC rates for the Canaries, IVA for the mainland (if you sell there) and EU exemptions, and invoices are generated automatically.

Which payment methods can I accept?

Cards via Stripe or Redsys, Bizum, PayPal, bank transfer. We pick what your customers actually use, in the Canary Islands Bizum is practically a must.

Can I sell to mainland Spain and the rest of Europe?

Yes, in the Pro package. We set up separate shipping zones and rates, and for shipments leaving the Canaries I'll tell you how to handle the customs paperwork and which couriers serve the islands well.

I already have a shop on WooCommerce / Shopify. Is it worth moving?

If it works and doesn't cause you problems, not always. Moving makes sense when the shop is slow, expensive to maintain, gets the taxes wrong or has you locked into subscriptions and plugins. Happy to take a look and give you an honest answer.
